Inner Vows

Inner Vows

The enemy uses inner vows and judgments to try to hold us captive from fully entering into God’s plan of goodness for our lives. Because we live in a broken world, it’s easy to come up with our own promises and ideas about life.

However, as children of God, we want to learn how to continuously invite God into our thoughts and attitudes, so we can get His thoughts and His narrative on what’s truly happening. We especially want to invite God into the situations that are confusing, painful or difficult. Since God has given us His very own promises, we don’t need to come up with our own promises to try to comfort ourselves; we can just receive His!

Remember, the relationship God wants to have with you is based on His perfection, not yours. So, don’t be afraid. Invite God into the deep parts of your heart and let him show you that His promises are more than enough for you.

Tip: Spend some time reflecting on the scriptures found on pages 34-36 in your Forward Weekend book.

Reminder

We encourage you to find a quiet place where you can really engage with the message. After watching, please allow the Holy Spirit to lead you into:

  1. A conversation with God: What do you want to say to God? What is God saying to you?
  2. A moment of personal reflection: How does this apply in your current season of life?
  3. An opportunity to go through your journaling pages (pg. 88) and reflect on the promises and truths God personally revealed to you.

“So remember what you have received and heard; and keep it …” Revelation 3:3.
