For every good thing that God offers us, there is a counterfeit. Satan always tempts us with something that is in direct opposition to what God has for us—something deceptively pleasurable that will actually destroy us in the end. Why are we susceptible to falling for it? We all have a need for love and affirmation. But when we don’t seek the One who knows everything about us for it, we are likely to be disappointed. The good news is that we may find freedom when we put Christ at the center of our deepest needs.
